Evelyn Ridgway was born on the 15th of December 1910, Taunton, Somerset (England). I know this because I have her birth certificate…but there’s not very much more I know about her. The rest of my family don’t know very much either, mainly because Evelyn was never a part of our lives.
When Evelyn was 19 she became pregnant with my grandmother. She gave her up for adoption and despite having a little contact with the adoptive family, Evelyn soon disappeared into thin air (or so it seems to us).
There are many family stories and myths about Evelyn and I think it’s now time to find out the truth. I’d like to find Evelyn’s living relatives to hear her side of the stories. I’d like to trace our family tree past my great-grandmother. I’d like to see if there’s a history of Alzheimer’s disease in Evelyn’s family. I’d like to know who my great-grandfather is, and I’d like to be able to tell my father and my children all these things.
I’m about to start searching for Evelyn. This website will be my record of the search. I think it will be a great story.

I can add to your search. For there are a whole host of relatives here in the uk who are decendants of Lily Ridgeway.
When Lily’s mother, with her children , came back from Australia, she remarried and as Mrs Pring settled at Tanpits Farm at Bathpool just outside Taunton. Lily married Ernest Fredrick Gready and tookon the Farm next door, Bawlers Farm. They had three daughters, Eva, Hilda and my mother Phylis.I have various Photos of all concerned.
